The mixtape exchange
The careful song order. The handwriting on the label. The hope they'd get what you meant. Bring it back with a whole circle of friends: everyone makes a mixtape, then builds a new one from everybody else's.

Why a mixtape
Call it a mixtape or call it a playlist. Either way, the best ones were never about the songs. They were about the person making it, and who it was for.
A club gives that feeling back. You learn what your friends and family are really listening to, and what they'd hand you if they could.
Every song is a way of saying: I thought of you.

Here is a sample tape. Yours will be better.

3 Side B
When the tapes drop, everyone listens through each other's tapes and picks one song from each member. Put them in your order, and that is your Side B mix.

Questions
Any kind you like. Keep it wide open, or give your club a theme: a genre (classic rock, country, soul, jazz), songs by women, groups and bands, a decade (the 70s, the 80s, songs from your high school years), a mood (sad songs, love songs, guilty pleasures), or a moment (workout, road trip, dinner party, rainy day). Or invent your own, like "songs about food." You choose the theme when you set up your club, and everyone sees it on the cassette.
Starting a club is free.

Only people with your invite link. Mixes stay hidden until reveal day unless you choose otherwise.
Set up your club tonight, send one link, and let the tapes start rolling.
